I am surprised nobody else has responded to this. It's an interesting video. I did not realise Naples was like that, it seems run down and neglected in the city centre and I wonder if this is reflected in the crime statistics or is it just superficial.

The video provides a new perspective on Europe for me. I did not know there was that level of poverty and destitution here. I thought the video portrayed a place as bad as any 3rd world country.

In fact, should we be ditching the term '3rd world' as it would appear every single corner of the planet has some serious destitution. I am thinking, how about Japan??? do they have areas of extreme poverty?

Nuts isn't it to think people in Western Europe live in squaller like it courtesy of corrupt governments and policing.

I actually felt awful knowing kids lived in that area, it is no wonder they see crime as a career.

Oh I’ll have to put this on the watch list, absolutely loved Gomorrah. I kinda knew it wasn’t overplayed how bad it was down there, it’s quite well documented. Hungover and looking for a McDonalds as you do in Naples a mate of mine wandered into some area that he shouldn’t have really wandered into and promptly shat himself!

Naples is easily the diciest place I’ve ever been too. Stopped on the way to Pompeii, lots of very dodgy characters hanging about, heavily armoured police vehicles tearing around and just general feeling of the place with dark alleyways and lots of rubbish, graffiti etc. Local train (not the intercity) was equally bad with gangs of yoofs intimidating people on board.

Despite that I’d like to go back at some point for another look around, was an interesting place in an edgy way.
