Vinnie Jones in the Country
Discussion
Anyone else enjoying this slightly awkward rubbernecking of one man surfing the edge of a mental breakdown? It's like a slightly less structured and more random, cockney, and sweary Clarksons Farm. He must be an absolute nightmare to work for, with his interference and constant chopping and changing. And yet underneath all the sweary rough diamond geezer exterior is clearly quite a sensitive chap. Interesting viewing.
Agree with the first post. Its a bit like watching a car crash at times, yet strangely i kept watching.
Vinnie is certainly "demanding" as a person/boss and appears to have some attentiom deficit syndrome.
I am impressed with his knowledge of country matters and love of motors.
As usual.this type of series is really about the celebrity taking control of the narrative they want to present and making a few quid from the streaming service - see Richard Hammond etc.

Just watching this now, really enjoying it, really genuine people on each episode and Vinnie is always watchable. Read his biography many years ago, it's really good and showed how driven he was (is?) and what a multidimensional character he is despite how he portrays himself and is portrayed at times
I can't get my head round what hes trying to achieve all the time although obviously only see one side of it.
All he seems to do is constantly tell people he wants a wall here, toilets here, door there etc etc and that's backed up by his workers who say the same thing.
For a bloke who lives on his own (new gf moved in now though) it just always seems to be a lot of effort.

We just finished this, really, really enjoyed it, I'd recommend anyone give it a watch with an open mind. What a passionate, driven and sonetimes troubled man, and some brilliant characters and moments throughout.
His auobiography was a really good read, everyone sees the public persona/actor/football nutter image and thinks he is like that all the time, his book suggests otherwise.slopes said:
