Sky are bringing a new Tennis channel out to add to their sports offerings.

They have bought the rights to various tournaments which means we can no longer see them on Eurosports which we have subscribed to for years.

So - we need to get a Sky Sports subscription to watch the tennis.

We have an LG smart TV bought a year ago, so it's still pretty up to date. I can access iPlayer, ITVx, Amazon and others.

We do NOT have a satellite dish - we still use an old aerial. Our TV is hooked up to full fibre broadband.

I understand I could access Sky by subscribing to NOW TV for £35/month, though I don't know whether it would be better to deal direct with Sky, get a Sky Q box and the satellite dish that goes with it. Would the satellite dish only work for Sky or would it serve up BBC etc.?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance - cheers - HM

Alternatively, you could contact Sky and get the Sky streaming box. Step-daughter bought this for her husband at Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He isn’t particularly technically minded, but managed to set it up and get it working in about an hour. No satellite dish needed, although it is just for streaming and does not have the ability to record. If you want to record, you will need Sky Q and a satellite dish. The streaming service can be delivered and set up in a few days, the Sky Q will take a bit longer. HTH.

A dish gets you all regular Freeview channels (BBC etc) and any extras that you pay for.

We had an old Sky dish on the front of our new house & given where it's sited & the fact it looks wrong on the house given the house is about 150 yes old it needs to be taken down. I've now a Sky Streaming subscription which uses a small box aka a "puck". You can get all the normal channels plus upgrade to sports etc etc but at about half the price of a full sky box package. You don't need a sky engineer to install it and just needs broadband and the necessary 3 pin wall plug for power.
