What a fabulous little film.
The 78 minute feature, based in Shetland, follows the story of an unlikely friendship between a man and a wild otter. Told by Billy’s wife Susan, it is a story about love and the power of reconnecting with nature.

Does anyone know how it was filmed ?
Looked like some was on a drone.
I'm taking it there was some kind of film crew there, the quality was too good for it to have been done by the couple on their phones.
Molly certainly wasn't camera shy
There's a Q&A with the film makers, which I can't find the link to at the moment.Looked like some was on a drone.

From what i can remember -
The film crew consisted of mainly 3 people who stayed in the family home for 6 months.
Some of the stuff at the beginning was filmed on their phones, you can see the picture quality changing once the professionals started.
The drone shots were introduced because Shetland is apparently quite flat so it added "depth", plus you get the cool shots of molly swimming.
Additional experts were brought in for the likes of the underwater shots at the end.
The shots of Jade the dog were deliberately included to make her look a bit dejected but in fact she had a great time with the extra bodies about to play ball with her.
Probably the best thing i've watched on TV this year.
Really lovely film / documentary. Will show the in-laws when they come at Christmas as they will love it. Not specifically a Christmas movie, but certainly fits the bill for the afterglow it leaves with you.
Thanks for the post for the link to the interview, it really shed a lot of interesting light into how it was produced.

There was a BBC article about it a while ago:

Sounds like a lovely story.
