Bored on my lunch break so started randomly watching movie clips on YouTube.

Been a few years since I've seen it but holy cow, the 6 minute Intro to "The Rock" is going to take some beating as one of the best Movie intros ever.
Within the first few minutes you've already got enough details to know the protagonists reasons for his decisions on why he's about to do what he is, the Hans Zimmer soundtrack dialling up when you hear his perished comrades dying over the radio clips in the background, the visuals of the storm, the speech to his deceased wife. That's before the attack on the Naval depot to steal the VX weapons. Fantastic!

Its almost hard to believe its a Michael Bay film!

I can think of a few others that may come close but will let you fire away!

On Bond films, I think the pre-title sequence to "Tomorrow Never Dies" is very good, especially the bit where we're following the missile in flight with the appropriate music.

The intro to Lord of war is very cleaver. Following the bullet from factory to packing case to victim. Quite an original opening.

The first ten minutes or so of 'The Peacemaker' I've always enjoyed.

It seems a lot has gone on before we even meet our stars, Nicole Kidman then George Clooney.

Another vote for this one, I love it as I don't think it really fits with the tone of the of rest of the film.

The first ten minutes or so of the JJ Abrams Star Trek film are superb.

It's a perfect introduction to the world, ship and a new character.

I had never seen it until a few months ago, damn those opening scenes are shockingly brutal.

The greatest movie ever, in the whole world.
