A lot of people today wouldn't believe what went on in the 50's/60's, it was absolutely shocking. The residents of Las Vegas used to watch the nuclear tests which took place only 65 miles away, full scale atmospheric and underground nuclear testing. The last test took place in 1992.
The worst testing was in the South Pacific, by the US, UK and France, where whole communities had their lives ruined.

Just watched a YouTube video on this, people used to specifically travel to Las Vegas and the hotels would have parties to watch these nuclear tests.

A subject I find fascinating, even then I am sure I would have wanted to see a test! I know it sounds strange!!

There is something dark and fascinating around nuclear fusion.

It's like the liquidators at Chernobyl, you feel what was going through there minds and body.

Some of the ending parts of this documentary were horrendously sad.
