Watched this 2 part special last night. A spin off from The Split with the brilliant Nicola Walker.
Really well written and acted with beautiful scenery.
So much better and classier than the laughable cringeworthy “bonkfest” otherwise known as Rivals that we are so far through with. What a load of tosh that is (can’t believe there’s a second series in the pipeline!)

I must have watched something different. I thought it was poorly written, lacking anything like an intelligent and/or interesting plot and almost an insult to the viewer’s intelligence.

One of the biggest wastes of talent and budget I’ve seen for a long time.

Having said that I’m sure many people did enjoy it and whilst the series itself was tolerable, for me this was simply rubbish.

Well there’s a couple of divergent opinions! I thought it was ok, perhaps rather hurriedly put together. The plot twist seems like a stretch, but I guess it’ll all unfold tonight.

Must admit we watched part 2 straight after and expected more parts being released - but it just sort of fizzled out…….

Hmm.. it did a bit. A pleasant programme but not terribly exciting. I’m sure they all had a nice couple of weeks in Spain making it though.

Don't think it was as good as the previous series but an easy watch

If you want to see more of Annabel Scholey, who plays Nina, she was quite good in "The Serial Killer's Wife" which was shown on Channel 5 over the last 4 night's and is on My5.

A total snoozefest.

Sorry but Nicola Walker now looks like death warmed up.

Sometimes you just have to give in to SWIMBO.

Walkers USP is the ability to speak very slowly and emotionally while executing a nervous twitch in her jaw a la Tom Cruise.

Which lawyer in their right mind would warn the other party what their plan was at a social event? Oh, it will all blow over” is how any sane lawyer would play it, to buy time and an element of surprise.

More thoroughly unlikable people cashing in on other peoples misery like some kind of noble emergency service.

Saw this and really wouldn't mind giving it a watch as I wouldn't mind splitting Nicola Walker in half biggrin

It is a story and not a documentary…

It’s been a cracking year for TV/network productions, I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘bonkfest’, maybe ‘The Split’ will end the year on a high, will give it a watch.

Ha! I may have conflated all of the characters into one sentence there but I stand by it. You're supposed have some empathy with characters in a story otherwise it's not worth bothering with but none the characters in The Split have any redeeming features, they're all making selfish decisions and then expecting to be welcomed back/forgiven despite there being no evidence they are sorry for what they've done.

As this was recommended, I saved it in the knowledge, there’s generally sod all to watch in January; I can only assume:

Christmas is usually poor for content, therefore, this seemed good.
The other channels, GBBO, Mrs Browns …., I’m a celebrity …..
OP had a sniff of the barmaid’s apron.

The writing was poor, plot by numbers, acting awful, Stephen Mangan, playing Stephen Mangan a cast that turned up for a payday/holiday, in short, what a borefest.
