For a lot of us i think this was quite a legendary film and has a ton of nostalgia attached to it. As a result i plotted out every scene in the the fast and the furious onto my maps and included present day google street view images or recent google images where street view wasn't available.

I made this map out of interest but if you ever went to LA you could use the map to visit some of the iconic locations from the film.

Admin move the post if it's in the wrong place, wasn't sure where to put it

This is actually a really great map - good job.
Unfortunately, I can't see it getting too much attention on these forums and it'll probably be buried within a day or two, which is a shame as it's a great resource for enthusiasts.

Have you made any other film location maps?

I've been working my way through visiting all 50 states and am over halfway done currently, but am always interested in movie locations for the states I have yet to visit.

Thanks!

Just this one so far. Although i am ruminating about doing a Gone in 60 seconds one aswell.

That’s brilliant, must have took some time? It’s still one of my favourite films just for the nostalgia as I was 12 when It came out, fully into cars and thinking all those night races/meets where really going on in my local town after my 9pm bed time laugh
Yes the ‘fast’ films have gone silly now but the first one will always be iconic imo.

I did a lot of finding areas in California featured in films that I loved.

My first visit to the States back in 1992.

I found the dirt road that leads to under the Golden Gate bridge where a body is pulled out of the water in one of the Dirty Harry films, and of course the streets used in Bullitt.

I also hired a '69 Mustang and drove down the alleyways that Keanu drove his Mustang in Point Break.

I didn't knock over any bins though to add to the effect biggrin

Wanted to save my deposit.

Great stuff!

Also if any any of you haven't seen him, check out Craig Lieberman's videos on YT. He has done a few videos on the locations. He was part of the ordinal production and had several cars in the movies.

Same it's the most nostalgic film for me. I was only 5 when it came out but was an instant favourite. Brians eclipse was my dream car for my whole childhood lol or those heist civics

Really great map and interesting to see the modern streetview of the same locations. "Johnny Tran shot by Brian" still having the same mural under the bridge for example.

Obviously the series has gone mad and there were some weird moments in this film (manifold issue!) but it was one of the great films of my early teens. I will have to go back and watch it again soon!

This is awesome. I live near by so will take a look at a few this weekend. Thank you!

A Gone in 60 Seconds one would be amazing!

Yeah their were tons of sloppy faults in the film. Even the technical advisor Craig Lieberman who was behind the car side of the film cringed at that. Manifold danger then the Floorpan falling out was crazy work lol

I remember having a ‘behind the scenes’ extras DVD and If I remember rightly one of the main producers is the guy that starts the race with Tran and Jessie?
I still want an F150 now, if I had spare £20k lying about I’d already have this for town pottering…

My kids were (are I suppose) great fans of the F&F films, and when we were on holiday in California in 2017 (they were 11 and 16) I took them out to Neptunes Net in Malibu for lunch, and they were completely nonplussed by it. I thought they love it, but they enjoyed messing in the surf more!

Also a surprise was any lack of F&F photos of the filming, signed menus or whatever that you might expect to see, especially as they had a wall of other TV and film appearances over the years.

I’d tracked down where the Tourette house and shop were, but as it was a fair way from where we were staying I’m glad I didn’t bother fitting those in too.

Thank you tropicalpalmtree.

Great movie that started it all.

I was 18 and remember watching it in the cinema when it came out.

This movie and Gran Turismo on the Playstation gave me a love of JDM car's.

I suppose you had to be old enough when the film came out to really appreciate it. Had they watched the film?

His YouTube channel is great, binged lots of it a few months ago. The original fast and furious films is still one of my all time favourites mainly because of the time it came out was i just starting in the car scenes and it was just as jap imports were coming into the country. Late 90's to late 2000's were peak car culture and I loved that decade.

Really cool map, wish I had wit when I went to LA last year. Would definitely have had a look at the house for nostalgia.

Did manage Neptunes Net though and was like a little kid..
