Bit of a kick in the nuts increasing the cost of Sky Sports by £1.00 pm considering they no longer transmit Eurosport. Less for more. grumpy

The answer is very simple, but will you do it?

I have considered it, but not ready to give up F1 yet.

The sport is also available via Now TV for £15/day or £35/month, £156/6 months. No need for a Sky package at all. https://www.nowtv.com/sports-purchase

I called up the other day and got the hard retention sell (25% discount). Out of courtesy to my wife I deferred the decision for her to check she was happy to cancel in spite of the offer (for us this is a joint decision).

After nearly 20 years we’re going to cancel because the pricing is now taking the piss. We will also switch to Now TV for the sport.

I’ve cancelled mine recently and gone with EE for half the money.

If it’s just F1 you’re after, Sky do a monthly rolling contract at £15/month, with only 31 days’ notice required to quit. If you could be bothered, I guess you could serve notice immediately, then re-sign for another month the next time you want to watch a race.

They don’t make it that easy to find, they’re trying to get you to sign up to all sports on a new 24-month contract.

The recent price hikes are an absolute joke. The only live TV we watch is sport

My only internet access is via my phone, so i'm not sure that would work well.

Thanks, I'll look into that.

I normally pay £20 per month for Now TV sport. I don't think I've ever had to pay full price.

There is a section of society which doesn't feed its kids breakfast and uses food banks so they can absorb these hikes pretty well....
And before you ask i helped out in a food bank and they are great for those absolutely on their arse.
Sadly there is a section of people who exploit it to save for holidays and have sky etc etc....
Sky knows their market is covered in a protective blanket.

Especially as Eurosport was never part of the Sports package (but they keep quiet about that).

Decent 4G signal to a phone on a windowsill acting as a hotspot for a fire stick or smart TV would be more than enough to get Now (and pretty much any other streaming service) working acceptably. I’ve done this in caravans and hotels loads of times.
If you’ve got 5G then it should work perfectly. That’s assuming you’ve got plenty of mobile data every month obviously! I’m intrigued how the other poster is managing £20/month, I haven’t seen a decent Now offer for ages. I remember the good old days when Shell garages used to give you Now vouchers to let you watch the F1 free… cloud9
