As a chap out of time, naturally MASH is one of my favourite shows to watch whenever it's on TV, so sad news tonight:

RIP frown

Used to match M*A*S*H when I was a kid. Couldn't imagine her ever being "old". I feel old now.

A wonderful actress, who credibly transformed 'Hotlips' from a one dimensional figure of fun into a more nuanced, believable character.

Swit was pivotal in the success of M.A.S.H.

Indeed - and as the character develops you can see the change from being the butt of Hawkeye's practical jokes and bullying to being a protected ally

M*A*S*H kept me and my brother entertained when we used to spend summers with our grandparents in Holland and Belgium around the 70s.

Great memories, great show which I returned to when I was a lot older.

RIP. Sad news.

It prompted me to look up a few things and I’m actually amazed how many of the stars of both the film and TV show are still with us. The film is 55 years old, the TV show started 52 years ago! I’ve also just realised that I’ve suffered from the Mandela Effect with the film, as I was absolutely certain she was in the film as well as the series but just proven myself wrong.

I read a stat once which shows just how popular the programme was. It was something like

Most people in the World (not the US... the World) thought they knew what Korea looked like... and it looks like a wooded area in South California
