A new six-part documentary about Alain Prost begins tonight at 8:00 pm on BBC Four.

No need to wait though, because all of the episodes are already available on iPlayer.

I watched the first two episodes tonight and thought it was good. I started watching F1 in the late 80s, so missed the early part of his career so it was nice to get some insight into that.

Bugger, can't watch it, no licence, doubt it is copied anywhere either, wonder if it might be released on hard copy.

I have watched the first three episodes and it is very good, surprised how much Prost opened himself up.
Will watch the last three tonight.

Looks like there's a torrent of it available.

All I'll say is, earlier this evening I decided to watch the first episode and ended up watching all 6 episodes in one go.

We I have finished all 6 episodes and it was brilliant one of the best docs I have seen. If you are interested in F1 you have to watch it.

Thanks. Just downloaded. Would have had no idea this was on without the OP.

Superb. And a welcome contast to the Senna movies - the first one a simplistic hagiography and the second an absurdly inaccurate joke.

Only halfway through but really enjoying it.

Been reassessing Prost over the last 18 months or so, I'm not old enough to remember properly the end of his career, let alone the start. I've enjoyed the following on youtube:

Why Prost is the greatest F1 driver https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2sFVvmm-jA&ab...

Prost's driving years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyI1o1oiwKY&ab... (Aidan's is good, but I remember a similar video by someone else that was at least double the length)

Prost GP years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVcWo7xt3sE&ab...

It was made by Canal+ in France, not the BBC, so might be versions of it out there.

Watched the first 3 episodes, and you do have to watch them as unless you speak French well (which I don't) you'll need to read the subtitles to follow the story.

Very good - I think the whole backstory about his brother is generally unknown (certainly in the English speaking world).

I did all 6 last night. Would echo the above, especially if you want the Prost take on his relationship with Senna and how it changed over the years.

I did feel around ep 5 that it drifted into a bit of another Senna doco, but overall good.

I’ve not watched it yet, but it’s fantastic that such a thing has finally come along. Alain was as good as they got, indeed it wasn’t until Hamilton came along that I considered I’d seen anyone better.
This is a chap who went wheel to wheel with some of the most revered names in the sport and beat them. Lost to them and then beat them again. This was the man who took Senna to a different place because it was only there that he considered he could beat him.
It has long needed a counter point to the Senna productions.
