Anyone else watch this ?
I like anything car-related and will probably watch the series, but it did seem like a "I need the dosh" type of show. Some things surprised me - I wasn't shocked to find he had a nice house, but I had no idea he had a car dealership, and what an odd one. Second-hand Seat Aronas and Citroen Berlingo vans when I would have thought it would be more up-market performance stuff. As for the "customised" Transits I was lost for words. He seemed a bit surprised that there was a limited market and it had reached saturation point. However I do think he may have tapped into the customised Raptor market at the right time.
That Golf was interesting. I wonder if the DVLA know about the engine swap ? Such a pity it had been Barried - I can't see even a smidgeon of profit there.

I gave it a try last night but switched off half way through. Wasn't particularly impressed with it and will probably give the rest of the series a miss. Got the impression they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel now and it was just a little something to get the misses involved in

don't feel too sorry for him as he has this other business to fall back on
MB has a Youtube channel that has been showing One Automotive for quite a while, as well as other channels (eg. Shifting Metal) covering it too. Fair play to him though. He has a nice house and all the toys and could probably easily retire on the proceeds of WD re-runs, but he is still out there grafting. The pick ups and Transits looked like they might be suited to towing caravans however.
Now watched the second episode & I cannot help noticing the simularities between it & Richard Hammond's show :
1. Showing his home life
2. Involving his wife & daughter in the TV series
3. Running a quite large car business- with all the overheads
4. Introducing us to his car business workmates etc.
And No, I have nothing against Mike Brewer as I thought his "Wheeler Dealers" -particularly those with Ed China were a novel way of presenting the classic car TV format or in the type of House he has ( as I could have a large house in the country- but would wince at the running costs/having all those redundant rooms).
I also struggled with how they made any profit in the Black Audi - where they changed the Front Grill etc. as once they had done that, put a Warranty on it & then sold it & e.g. paid the VAT - they were left with very little profit?

I've watched the first 3 now and am enjoying it enough to watch the 4th when it airs.
Assume wheeler dealers and his other TV programs pay the lions share of his income?
Modified ford rangers always seem to have BO55 number plates and be driven like idiots or towing caravans...

I shouldn’t like this, some of it appears a little contrived, what the hell is it really about.
But it shows ‘Mike the expert’ cocking up like the rest of us, one would have thought Mike was in the position to buy the best, apparently not.
How much is made for telly, hard to work out, but like most of his productions, he comes across as a genuine ‘car guy’.
Like all these types of programmes, you have to take them with a pinch, but I’d say he comes across more honest than most.
Add to this, (buddy aside) he seems genuine and down to earth, I guess he occasionally thinks to himself, how did I end up living in this pile.

His business partner seems not really to have a clue about what he's buying, a £10,000 M3 on 120,000 miles will have a had a hard life! There was no mention of the sub frame being checked of any of the E46 M3 things that go wrong.
