Sometimes I revisit old classics that I enjoyed so much back in the day and they disappoint - Raiders Of The Lost Ark springs to mind.

But last night I put 'A Fish Called Wanda' on and it was absolutely brilliant! Fantastic cast, well paced, genuinely funny, great story, thoroughly enjoyable.

Any other old gems out there worth a revisit?

Get Carter. Still a fabulous, albeit ruthlessly bleak, film. So too The Long Good Friday.

Very dated certainly, but no less enjoyable.

Get Carter is a good shout! Going to dig that one out.

You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me it's a full time job. Now behave yourself.

The Princess Bride.

(There is a shortage of perfect films in this world; it would be a shame to remake this one)

Soon after we met, I dragged a reluctant future Mrs C to London to see Casablanca on a big screen. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.

Robocop is always worth a go, at least in the full version. Good in so many ways. After 37 years it's still solid.

Manhunter is another one I always enjoy, there are a few adaptations of Red Dragon but this one has such a clean version of that definitive 1980s Michael Mann look.

Flight of the Phoenix [1965] just a rattling good yarn with a stellar men only cast.

Yeah The Long Good Friday is superb, and the theme quite mesmerising:
