Murder In The Outback
Discussion
Australia can make some outstanding TV/film productions. However, when it comes to crime documentaries, they are to say the least a bit lacking.
In a country where, when it comes to crime, not much happens beyond Bogans getting lethered and doing stupid (sometimes lethal) things, plod doesn’t have too much experience of in depth criminal investigations.
In such a vast and dangerous country, this often means they haven’t got a clue, so when all else fails make stuff up.
That’s what this suffers from.

As daggin says, Plod out there aren’t equipped / trained / experienced to handle complex investigations.
Unless someone was found guilty tourism would suffer, so the pressure was on to convict someone
One fair sized blood stain by the edge of the road.
The trucker who stopped and picked her up - he said that what she told him was different to what she told Plod in the subsequent interviews.
She said she ran for 10 minutes before hiding in a bush, that in fact was some 40 feet from the camper.
She was b someone else behind his back ( I was stunned when I heard this ) whilst on the holiday of a lifetime together AND carried on e mailing him after Peter had gone missing - granted, she is Hot, but totally disgraceful of her.
Her behavior during the interviews, which anyone could see was bloody Odd to say the least.
The behavior expert who was convinced that her behavior was strange and that she was lying
The biometrics expert professor who was adamant that the guy in the grainy cctv footage at the petrol station was 4 inches shorter than the hulk who was convicted
A jury who were swayed by flimsy DNA evidence.
The former life time of experience defence lawyer who was absolutely convinced that his client was innocent & who did not believe a word that she said.
