There are of course endless numbers of bad guys in films, but there are a few for me that were indandescently terrifying.

(1) Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men:

(2) Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs:

(3) Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York

(4) The truck driver who does not appear in Duel ( the truck appears to be the bad guy) :

Amon Goeth in Schindlers List played Ralph Fiennes.
In reality the real Amon was far worse.

Always found Alonzo from Training Day pretty terrifying due to how easily he'd leave innocent people to be brutally murdered. No morals, no loyalty but would come across like your best friend. Right up until he left you to be brutalised. Chilling.

Henry from Henry: Portrait of Serial Killer, for pure nihilism.
