I must have, at the time, missed the real reason she was detained in this awful injustice.

Just finished it.
Aren't politicians just st.Bungling Boris,Truss scared of her own shadow,they had what,50 odd years to pay back the debt but I'm thinking they held it back because they saw it as leverage against Iran,tossers.
Poor woman and her family to have to go through that

We owed the money so that didn't help. Although sanctions stopped us from paying it for much of that time.

But what did that £400m get spent on once the Iranians got it paid? On fermenting terrorism and general mayhem thru their proxies in the region. Hamas, Hezbollah and many other Islamic terror groups are funded by Iran. What happened to NZR was awful, but lets not pretend paying the money to free her hasn't added to the death toll of innocents in the region.

There was a documentary on it last night,appears it's a tactic of Iran to kidnap people to get what they want,this was just the case that got the publicity...... it's still going on !

Richard Ratcliffe showed admirable restraint by not lamping Tobias Ellwood when he had the chance. "I think you should consider therapy".

Even when you knew how it ended, the scenes where she kept getting obstacles in her path on her day of release were stomach-churning.

Just watched this and the documentary. The strength she and her family showed is incredible. As for our politicians and foreign office staff well…….
