On tonight 10 and 11pm (2 episodes) about the 2 Swedish sisters who ran in to live lane traffic on a fast flowing M6 in the midlands. The episode of Motorway Cops that it was aired on originally is shown to all new highways traffic officers during basic training.

What an incredible story. I must admit somehow this one had passed me by.

I remember watching it at the time and feeling sorry for my West Mids colleagues at such a traumatic experience. We thought at the time they were both high on one substance or another as there is no way anyone could be hit at speed by a vehicle, causing the damage they did and get up and run away hitting the police officer the way she did! I must admit to chuckling when one of the sisters screamed "help, call the police" and the roads policing officer replied, "we are the police!"

I've attended many incidents where the vehicle damage was a lot less and ended with loss of life.

That was off the scale. She should have been sectioned immediately after M6. I mean, how 'not mad' was all that?!

Agree with that, looked like a bungled suicide pact at first on the motorway and then the short sentence for killing the good samaritan that helped her, bonkers stuff indeed. One is back in Sweden and the other in America, the further apart the better.

The thing that freaked me out the most was the stills of their faces looking up while being treated. They just looked evil and it put a chill through in the same way when I see that photo of Myra Hindley

What a strange case. Imaging being the camera director who suddenly sees one of the twins suddenly running into the road!
She was shouting "Snuff Movie" and "You won't get my organs" when being restrained. I would have put money on something like PCP being involved but they stated that hospital tests found nothing.

There wasn't much said about the family back in Ireland or if they had been having issues. Poor Fella getting murdered after trying to be helpful.

Still can't believe they survived the impacts!

Be very careful if brining an unknown Swede girl back from the pub...

(Back in the day, one of my flatmates brought a girl back to the flat that he'd just met and clicked with in the pub. She was very strange - making choices by rolling a dice- and trying to "read" us.....got a bit weird and he had a bit of trouble getting rid...Not murdered though...)

The case leaves so many unanswered. Questions. Did the police even try to find out what went in Ireland & the what about the children she left there? It's no wonder the Internet theorists were rife.

The killing was the sad part.

How 2 nutters can be freed from court without follow up is the big question here.
They should have been sectioned, not freed !

Totally mental, I assumed right from the start they were involved in drugs but this turned out not to be true.

I guess we'll never know what happened with the stabbing, unless I missed something? Did she stab herself?

I don't recall hearing about it at the time but back then I was more interested in chasing young girls (I was young myself just for the record).

I'd only been a traffic officer for a couple of years when it happened, so it was big news all round the service.
