In light of the movie thread does anyone have any TV series they watch when feeling a bit fed up that snaps you out of it?

I must rewatch the inbetweeners at least once a year, usually having forgotten bits of it.

I often put on an episode of Father Ted or I’m Alan Partridge. I know them off by heart but there’s barely a duff episode and they always raise a smile

Coming to the end of Heartbeat now and not sure what to replace it with - memories of far better times and rose-tinted glasses.

Though the new Robin Hood series is developing nicely even if "Rob" does look like Lewis Collins.

Auf Weidersein Pet, first two series only, currently watching it again through the ITV player app. I originally watched it on a Friday at my grans house when we stayed over, latter on I bought it on VHS, then DVD and now I am watching it again online.

Red Dwarf would be another, but not watched that in years.

Darling buds of may was another I used to watch, again not for 20 years or so.

Friends on Comedy Central or Netflix.

Can just have this playing in the background and even though I have seen them multiple times, still find some of the scenes/storylines/dialogue hilarious.

I would put Peter Kays Car Share in this list. Not usually a fan but it is brilliant.

I always revert to ‘The Thick Of It! Including the specials and the film ‘In The Loop’. Absolute mayhem and fantastic character arcs. Also really enjoy Father Ted as previously mentioned. Just brilliant situational comedy.

I haven’t yet found anything beyond 2015 that sets the same tone, maybe child of the times or behind the curve?

I can’t help but feel that there isn’t as much originality any more and we wait for re-hashes of old concepts. Or maybe I’m showing my age?

I’d love to see a 2005 version of blackadder for example

Similar to others :

The Office (UK)
I'm Alan Partridge
Peep Show

Others as well, many already mentioned, but they are the top 3 if working late in a hotel room by myself.
