For all I know, this may have be done previously, possibly several times.

However, putting that to one side, what - in your opinion - is the best episode of Minder?

I think my number 1 is the one that's just been on ITV4 - the Jack Last missing video episode.

Runner up prizes go to:

The one where Arthur gets a Rolls Royce Corniche and the old guy does a runner at the end on a motorbike
The Freddy Fenton episode (also featuring a Roller)
The one where Terry has a massive scrap with a Scottish bloke on a London bus.
The one with Billy Connolly as a Tic Tac guy and the chap faking his own death.

'In', the episode with Brian Cox, or 'The car lot baggers' with Jimmy Nail are two of my favourites but to pick an absolute best episode is impossible for me...favourite television show along with Sweeney

The car lot baggers was brilliant but they did also make some very poor episodes

That's one of my favourites too.

I have a few though. From memory,

The one with 'self inflicted' when the stolen van goes up in flames.

The one with the football match, where it's revealed that the new landlord of another pub is a grass.

The one where Arthur thinks he's going along on a deal buy diamonds but it's not.

The cab office one where the drivers keep getting attacked.

One with Debbie who is a witness to something and men come looking for her, she was only in a couple of episodes (one of them I mentioned above)

I like the first Ray Daley episode. I know he's not Terry, but I think the scene when he shows what he can do in The Winchester is pretty good. That episode also has quite a lot going on in it.

Of those ones, the one with Phelan, where Arthur is constantly being targeted.

The one with the bloke who has the Porsche who listens to classical music and takes them to an old industrial plant and Arthur convinces the 'heavy' to change his ways.

I might have more. I'll try to remember them.

I've watched every episode with Tel, but I still can't bring myself to watch any with Ray Daley.

It's not so much the episodes, it's some of the dialogue that sticks in my mind. Off the top of my head, so it wont be word for word:

Chisholm is talking to some junior plod, and asks him to go and find Daley "How will I know it's him? What does he look like?" and Chisholm replies with " 'orrible".

I think it's one of Rycot's underlings that says "Isn't Arthur overdue?" "He's well overdue" is Rycot's reply.

And there's one where Arthur is sitting on a park bench with someone (I think it's Morrie) and Morrie says "I couldn't half do with a drink, Arthur" and Arthurs looks behind him at a bird bath and says "Well, if you are thirsty, dip your beak in there".

Aces High: and Sometimes Very Low

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0648654/

"Professional gambler Maurice Michaelson is barred from the casino where he has broken the bank and he is later robbed of his winnings. He sells Arthur his car for stake money and, minded by Terry, prepares to get rich again in a big poker game"

I loved the lotus Eclat and never forgot Arthurs lesson on selling something when you are desperate

I'd go for the episode with Wendy the agrophobic bookie. Great ending in the middle of a playing field with him hammering on the side of the police van shouting "let me in"

Chisholm is my favourite character!! Some of his lines are utterly fantastic. There are another couple of episodes that have just come to mind. Mike Reid in 'You need hands', and the two boxing episodes, 'Don't tell them Willie Boy was here' and 'Rocky Eight and a Half'...

There's a scene in Arthur's lockup where he's saying about some injustice to Cheerful Charlie Chisholm and Chisholm replied "Oh dear Arthur, have you been interfered with? Do you wish to make a complaint?"

And then of course "Jones, you Welsh cretin".

Not a fan of the Ray Daley years at all, if you read George Cole's autobiography he was not sure about carrying on but I guess the issue was that with Dennis Waterman quitting suddenly and the ratings high it was worth the gamble with a new minder.

Could be worse mind you, best not to remember the channel 5 relaunch with Shane Richie

The scene where Chisholm was pissed was funny, but I can't remember which episode it was.
