This remarkable video 'dropped' a couple of weeks ago. For me its great beauty and haunting power derives from the glorious simplicity of its conception.

Although 7 minutes long in total, what happens from 4:17 onwards is quite remarkable, IMO.

Your take on it may well differ. If so, what's your all time favourite music video?

Thread title made me think back to when we got satellite TV with MTV back in the day.

Relax by Frankie goes to Hollywood.
Thriller by Michael Jackson
Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel
Money for Nothing by Dire Straits

Were the really popular (equivalent to going viral today) ones.

Fond memories.

OK Go do some tremendous videos. All of them good but this is one of my favourites:

There's another one that I find resonates exceptionally well for some reason - not because I was part of the scene conveyed but they've managed to capture a period of time and locations that I find oddly familiar: Bicep's Glue:

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker (full version)

Johnny Cash - Hurt

Maybe not the best videos, but ones that stick out to me.

Thriller

mostly because of all the repressed mary whitehouse types we had to wait up until midnight to watch the first broadcast of something so utterly shocking and scary on public television

I prefer this one, but mostly because the lyrics are brilliant

I don't think anyone can say what's the best ever but The Hu certainly put some effort into their videos.
