Seems to be splitting the film community. Made/generated in months and for a cost of $2000 compared to tens if not hundreds of millions.
Any difference to CGI and other computer aided movie creatation and technlotocal advancement? Democratising the arts and film making? Or ruining it?
I'm going to sit on the fence, not sure what to think. The technology is amazing, especially how quickly it has advanced since we saw Will Smith eat some dodgy spaghetti 5-6 years ago. If I didn't know in advance that it was AI generated in not so sure I would've figured it out from the trailer.
In fact scrap sitting on the fence, surely its going to democratise film? 75 minute full length film-documentary that was made for 2 grand and could be done from a £300 computer (or £3000 if needing to cut and edit the scenes I guess).
Quite fascinating either way and must have the majority studios slightly worried.
