Sir Patrick Stewart RIP

[BlackTails]

Just announced on his Instagram account (sirpatstew). He died today.

A mesmeric actor. He will be sadly missed.

[butchstewie]

That's a shame. I'm of an age where for me I know him from Star Trek TNG rather than the rest of his career but I'm rather shocked to find he was 86!

[g3org3y]

Very sad.

RIP.

[geeks]

Absolutely gutted. The man was a constant throughout my life

[MiniMan64]

fk no…that sucks.

I truly hate that all the famous people who die I now recognise.

[nordboy]

That really sucks.

RIP Captain Picard and Charles Xavier.

[juggsy]

Truly sad about this one, and he’ll be in the upcoming Avengers film. RIP Sir Patrick

[Terminator X]

Was he ill? So sad.

Another legend gone.

I remember being in Rome at the Colloseum and hearing him doing a piece to camera for something deep in the bowels. You could hear his voice filling the arena, something I will never forget.

[LHRFlightman]

Gutted. Absolutely gutted.

R.I.P Sir Patrick.

[Se7enheaven]

Sad to hear this news.
He was a fine actor ,but also obviously didn’t take himself too seriously. His episode in Extras with Ricky Gervais was hilarious.
RIP Sir Patrick

'a brief battle with alzheimers' apparently.

A absolute legend, and breathed entirely new life into a beloved franchise after decades - and almost it seems by accident!

Then of course embraced it by embodying Professor X.

[snoopy25]

Ahh no

He was the person who got me into Star Trek

[Debaser]

R.I.P.

Sad to hear this

[SlimJim16v]

RIP
I didn't know he actually started out as a journalist. He was really good in American Dad, very funny.

Gah.. there goes the captain I grew up watching on Star trek TNG.

He brought an quality of character to the role, and memorable quotes which make you think on how to be a decent person.
A role model to live up to and one to inspire others to be better.

RIP Patrick Stewart

“What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived.” — Captain Jean-Luc Picard

I think that's particularly poignant today. Rest in peace, Captain.

RIP

Let s see what s out there and God speed.

One of the finest actors of a generation, truly saddened by this

[MikeM6]

That is incredibly sad. A phenomenal actor and THE captain.

[ziggy328]

He was born opposite where I used to work many moons ago.

Gutted RIP
