It's totally shcensoredte! I used to like Al Murray, I saw him alot on the South London comedy circuit in the 90's. I also liked the Pub Landlord until it got popular and he got his own show but this current sketch show is embarassingly bad.

Al Murray's stand up is excellent, one of my favourite comedians. His tv show is pretty poor and not a patch on his stand up.

I saw his Live at the Apollo stand-up a couple of days ago and it was superb, way better than any TV stuff I have seen him do.

I can't believe people don't realise that it's an act.

Yeah, and Harry Enfield is like a crap 70s DJ, Matt Lucas is always going on about being the only gay in the village and Paul Whithouse really annoys me with all that 'suits you sir'...

FACT! Actually, and I feel a bit emperors new clothes here, I find the divorcing radio couple and the randy old parents very funny. I am also ashamed that, after initial distaste, I found myself laughing hysterically at the camp Nazi the other night.

Agreed.

I also find Barrington Blowtorch amusing if not laugh out loud funny.

I've never liked his act but he does come across allright when out of character. Saw him on Saturday Kitchen a while ago and he was quite the opposite of his annoying pub landlord.

Having never had the pleasure of meeting him I can't really comment on his off screen persona.

However, on screen I find him to be a annoying fat prick.

Just to let you know that in 'real life'...he's a charming, well spoken, articulate & intelligent man. Just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a person purely from their on screen persona!

isnt this just a re hash of the alf garnett/warren mitchell problem.
a character meant to make fun of the right wing racist idiots becomes well liked by the group he is taking the piss out of.
for me al murray will be just like all standup comediens.
some of his stuff is good and some of it isnt.
