I've just watched this for the second time, having caught it again on Film 4.

What a stunning film- I don't watch many twice but can well imagine seeing this again and again. I love the interwoven plots, and the camerawork/score is extremely well done.

Why didn't it ever get much attention in the first place (Apart from the Oscar)? I don't remember seeing it at the cinema back then.

Before anyone starts, I'm referring to the one about racial tensions in LA, rather than the "other" one.

It's complete rubbish. Utterly contrived ivory tower hollywood Bullst.

"oh look this guy is racist but he saves a black women"

"His partner though isn't racist but shoots a black man"

"This rich lady hates hardworking mexicans"

"This victimised arab shoots the victimised mexican"

Crap, complete and utter crap.

I thought it was a really good film aswell. The plot was good, and the acting was great. That little girl getting 'shot' nearly had my ball and chain crying.

Like you said, i don't watch many films twice, but this i have seen a few times now.
