When did Channel 5 start looking so good?

I remember when C5 first came out and the picture quality (when you could receive the channel at all) being somewhat worse than appalling. Haven't really watched it much since then, but I've recently been getting heavily into the many CSI variants.

I've noticed that the PQ on 5 now is pretty damn good, dare I say better than some other "better" channels.

What went right?

Yeah it's better than ITV for me now, not quite with BBC though.

I still find that on my Freeview TV that Five, FiveUS and Fiver still often have a poor signal when the other main channels are fine.

I have good picture quality on all channels, but the sound quality on ITV is poor.

It depends on the platform you are using to watch it, C5 picture quality on SKY is rather good but not quite as good on freeview, whereas ITV its totally dire on SKY and actually quite good on freeview.
