was definitely worth a watch last night. It's amazing what the pirates do and how little we can really do to stop them or even deter them..!! Basically we have to catch them in the act of taking a boat to do anything which when you see how big the affected area is the phrase needle in a haystack comes to mind.
Looking forward to the next episode now.

Another good watch, lets hope hey catch/stop some Pirates.
Out of interest are the Royal Marines the same as the ones that fight on Land? or do they specialise in certain types of fighting? I guess they are probably multi skilled.
Is that actually a serious question?Out of interest are the Royal Marines the same as the ones that fight on Land? or do they specialise in certain types of fighting? I guess they are probably multi skilled.

Why dosen't someone run a couple of Q ships
Nice looking ship pottering about
Pirates approach, sides fall down and a gang of marines and Navy shoot the s
t out of everything and everyone
Once it's happened a few times they might get the message

The Marines are the Navy amphibious infantry, trained for rapid deployment anywhere on the globe. Multi-skilled obviously, I read somewhere the marine training is the longest out of any NATO force.

Great program, Ross Kemps a laugh though, can't take the bloke seriously. Hes an actor not a hardman! You can tell he can't wait to get shot so he can play it up.
Because going out to a battlefield in Afgan, without a weapon is such a pussy actor thing to do. He does a good job, and I think the men respect him somewhat, which I imagine is a tough thing to get when you are making a TV program.TVR Moneypit said:
I get the impression that he may have been in the forces himself?
He uses quite a bit of what I assume is forces lingo, seems to handle weapons with ease, calls C/O's 'Sir' and I saw him standing to attention on the bridge of NMS Northumberland when in the presence of the captian on the last episode.
He hasn't been in the Forces. His behaviour is probably just osmosis and training (both pretend stuff for TV and actual training he was given for the Afghanistan episodes). He uses quite a bit of what I assume is forces lingo, seems to handle weapons with ease, calls C/O's 'Sir' and I saw him standing to attention on the bridge of NMS Northumberland when in the presence of the captian on the last episode.
Ross is sound. I split my sides watching him in extras
