Being in the colonies one wishes to view online content from the BBC iPlayer, such as the new series of Psychoville or Topgear etc.. Now for some reason, the liberal lefty tw@ts think us Orstralylians are good enough to let Liz have her boat race on our moolah yet deigned us inferior to allow us to watch their programming a'la interwebs. Is there a way around this frankly ludicrous in this day and age quandary. I know about proxy servers but these seem to mess up my internet browsing experience.

Depends on how you want to do it. My parents are in Thailand and want to watch iplayer stuff, so what i did was setup a VPN connection for them, so they dial through to my PC and get what they need, albeit, they had to download the files, as my connection is too slow for streaming. The other way is, i found if i download the episodes for them, i can zip it up, host it for them, they can then download it a damn sigght quicker, and play it through iplayer, but they still need to use the VPN to authenticate the episode. Once the auth is done, they can disconnect and it's happy days for them smile

Firefox & FoxyProxy plugin, google search for "free proxies" search for a UK one, put the IP into FoxyProxy and activate it, then you will be "UK" based and able to view it.

Not sure how easy it is to find a UK one but I have done this with US proxies, of which there are many to view a US only video feed. smile
