Die Hard 2 a must have, but 4 is rubbish?
Astonishing.
Tell me you saw the 'proper' 4. Not the girly girly Die Hard 4.0 released in the UK, with all the blood and swearing sponged away?
Every Sutdio Ghibli film but in particular Spirited away and Grave of the Fireflies
Some Kurosawa - Ran, Rashomon, Seven Samurai, Kagemusha
Taxi driver
Withnail and I
City of God
Amores Perros
Some classic Jackie Chan - Drunken master, police story, project A, rumble in the bronx
Once upon a time in China 1+2
Clerks and Malls rats
La Haine
Spinal Tap
Three colours trilogy
Le pactes de loupe
400 blows
+all the usual decent hollywood stuff etc

Yes 2 isn't great but I assumed it was part of a trilogy box set like I have so needs to be kept.

I'd add Road Trip to the DVD collection.

Looking across (and trying not to duplicate anything that's gone) I'd throw the following into the mix:
American Graffiti - significant for the cars and the simultaneous following of the characters
Memento - not one to watch as a 'switch-off and be entertained', needs multiple viewings
Lucky Number Slevin - big hitting cast and superb story, doesn't hold back but not gratuitous
Repo Man - dip a toe into the surreal
That's it, everything else as a must own from my shelf has been noted above... I may add a few more now on the strength of this thread...
