New series starting tonight, usually good for a laugh!

Wednesday 15 July
9:00pm - 10:00pm
BBC2
1/8
As they embark on their seventh series, the Dragons face a new peril. Not panting entrepreneurs with dodgy business plans, but a worse threat - obsolescence. With the economy shrinking and Gerry Robinson throwing struggling firms a lifeline over on Channel 4, the red-blooded, impress-me venture capitalism of the Dragons could start to look out of touch, even a bit tasteless. Sir Alan Sugar adapted to the recession by making the most recent series of The Apprentice more touchy-feely - will the Dragons tame their fire-breathing, too? Preview DVDs weren't available, so we'll have to hope that the formula proves as watchable as ever and that Evan Davis's singsong recaps don't finally send us screaming from the room. In the end, it's hard to argue with the value of a show that has invested more than six million pounds so far in new ventures. Ideas the hopefuls will pitch tonight include eco-friendly patio heaters, cat-friendly collars, personalised romance novels and a hat that seems to make your wrinkles disappear.

I do hope they have got better cameramen as in the past the random quick focus/out of focus and zoom shots make it look as though there is an element of amateurism filming wise.

Filmed in HD as well, excellent!

Just starting, seems like a long time coming this series?

Always good for a laugh and for shouting at thick people on TV.

Oh man this first presentation is the worst organised and planned thing I have ever seen.

What's with all the heat haze around the Dragons at the start, it made them look like they smelled, or farted.

Just give me lots of money. We'll sort out how much I sell and for what profit later...

FFS why does the "commentator" keep repeating what has happened.

Duncan says "I'm oot". Voiceover man then says "Duncan Bannatyne is out"...

At half the price I would probably buy one but, at nearly a hundred no way! Though I can understand why single females might be prepared to part with it.

Peter just purchased the guys knowledge of the industry. Not necessarily the product...

The Dragons contracts will have clauses stating what can be shown on TV etc. wink

As mentioned, the heat wave thing at the beginning was a bit weird, but still enjoyable enough. smile

He says it will work with mobiles, I wonder how that will work, it's a big thing to carry round with you idea

For it to be fitted in a hard wire phone you would still have to spend a fair bit on a new phone. good idea are

BT phones on the decrease with mobiles getting cheaper. Mate of mine has taken his BT phone out of his business because he wasn't using it and nearly everyone phone him on the mobile.
