...starts tonight on the FX channel at 10 pm and I'm reliably informed is well worth a watch. Made by HBO and is very gritty - sort of like the film 'Twilight' but for adults apparently...lots of swearing and stuff... wink

They're on Series 2 in the US with series 3 already sanctioned by the studio so they must be doing something right.

For a program that has such a big following in the states together with favourable critical reviews I can't understand why it wasn't picked up by one of the more mainstream UK channels.

Still...we shall see...

Blimey...was I the only one who watched this?

Vampires, sex, violence, gore...

...did I mention sex?

True blood is superb, about halfway through series 2 at the moment and it's one of the only shows I have to watch as soon as possible; everything else just piles up on the Sky+/PC until I have time to watch it.

Damn I really wanted to watch this, hope it's repeated as it does not seem to be on Virgin catch up.

It has - C4 will run it after the premiere outing on FX.

Mind you, the fact that something is big in the US does guarantee it a prominent airing over here. Law & Order is huge in the US but the most up to date series being showed over here gets broadcast at midnight or 1am by Sky One.....

I watched the first episode and quite liked it. HBO is such a refreshing change to most US stuff, which is generally a profanity and nudity-free zone.

Wifey added it to the Sky program list.

We watched the first episode in a random mix of complete confusion and rolling about laughing.

It has *the* best comedy pron scene of all time, a vampire kind of scowling into a mirror whilst shagging some bird, then suddenly his banging accelerates to x12 speed!

We shall watch the rest of the series, but by eck its wierd!

I am watching this to! Quite good, i wonder how in this show a person actually turns into a vampire?

I think the scenes between Sookie and Bill are quite good and edgy, and you are kept on the edge of your seat! Even better in SkyHD

I am really enjoying this!

I watched the first few episodes thinking "this is either remarkably good or absolute rubbish" and not being able to make up my mind which.

It has a real "cartoon" feela about it.

Looking forward to the next series.

Loved it, but thought the finale to season 2 was weak.

Looking forward to season 3 smile

This is perhaps the only show that my girlfriend (who loves twilight and the vampire diaries *blech*) and both my housemates (30 year old guys who's criteria for something good are basically "boobs and bloodshed") are totally hooked on.

Its trashy, the acting is wooden and it has a real "comic" feel, its terribly good smile If you havent seen it, you will either love it, or hate it...
