Let's face it, they were a bit st weren't they?

So he can run fast / see long distances (through ONE eye) and is strong... not much good really.

And the Bionic Woman... she HEARS a long way and can run fast.

They were both quite poor.

Thank you.

Nah, fk off! wink

6 Million Dollar Man was the bks when I was 6 (in 1974). He could outrun rogue Russian Mars probes, fight Sasquatch, and even survived crashing NASA's HL-10 lifting body.

Now, the Bionic Woman, I agree, she was a useless tart. Bursting tennis balls indeed...

I think everything was ste in the late 70's early 80's, fashion, music (apart from Tight Fit) TV and British cars (apart from the Marina 1.3L).

I did wonder If Mr and Mrs Bionic ever did it would they have a bionic baby? Now that would be cool! smile

I have to admit to buying a Bionic Man DVD last year just to see if it was as good as I remember as a kid - had the action figure and survival pod etc...

Errmmmm.... not exactly hehe

Still couldn't help but make the 'bionic noise' as he ran in slo mo though.

Do you know that the group you saw performing as "Tight Fit" on Top of the Pops were a different bunch of people compared to those who were singing on their records?

IF you had a bionic arm then you would also need to have ALL your bones replaced as well otherwise if you attempted to lift anything your back would break.
Also, pulling a car door off by its hinges would snap the handle.

Still come to think of it...The enemy would hear the 'do..do..do..do' sound effect every time he used his eye? hehe

No, no it's true!

The bloke singing is in fact a short fat balding bloke who was a session singer.

The girls looked ok though......

The Bionic Man/Woman were st.

The ONLY redeeeming feature was being able to watch the other kids "running" in slow motion in the school playground. Absolootely fecking hilarious: they would need to get their mates to hum the tune as well.

TV from time actually retaining some interest today? Not much. At a push I'd say Blake's 7 but the effects from shows that old are often hilarious looking to the modern eye - setting that aside and "suspending disbelief" can be somewhat hard.

Although Tight Fit got into the charts in 1982 with "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", who had the original hit back in the 50s?

Or, more likely, your bionic arm would just rip straight of of its socket.

Funnily enough, this exact point was explored in a little call-out box in the Ghost in the Shell manga and concluded that only full-body prosthesis would allow you to have superhuman lifting ability.

Maskatron - Steve Austin's arch enemy. He had three interchangeable masks to disguise himself (Steve Austin, Oscar Goldberg and the other one).
