Hiya

If anyone gets this I will be massively impressed and also very grateful as I've been looking for this for years.

I think it would have been around 1990, I remember watching a war film on TV (Ch4 I think), all I can remember is paratroopers and a big thing being made about the soundtrack which was played on something I think is called an ARP2600.

Over to you guys

Can you be any more specific about which war?

The ARP2600 is an analogue synthesiser made in the 70's and is very flexible and used by alot of pro's. Hans Zimmer is a man who does film sound tracks and uses old analogue synths if that's any help.

Thanks

It was the Second World War, unfortunately I can't remember anything else about it. I think it was set in Northern Europe (may even have been here - NOT Eagle has Landed).

It wasn't anything mainstream.

'A midnight clear' 'thin red line'

to be honest could be anything. Any detail about what happened in the film would be good.

Yep, I think that sounds about right. Excellent film, near impossible to find (although I still have a VHS copy from that showing on Channel 4).

Nope, not The Keep.

It also wasn't A Bridge Too Far or any of the well known war films.

Guess I'll have to give this one up as I just can't remember anything else other than paratroopers and the synthesizer soundtrack.

Oh and yes, there were men with guns in it.

Wasn't that directed by Michael Mann? Always wanted to see that, but apparently he's disowned it so the chances of a DVD release are slim

Wiki lists a film called 'A Midnight Clear' in 1992 with music by a bloke called Mark Isham who is apparently known for his synthesiser work?

Nope.

I think it was (a bit) earlier than that.

Can you help us with any of the plot?

Innit, I thought my memory was bad. Best I can think of is Patton (unlikely) or The Big Red One?
