I am recording this, looks good. The only bit I saw was the classic power cut.

I didn't realise it had been on before....

Power cuts.....I just about remember them.

I can remember that this was the first time I became aware of the price of fuel, petrol was 37.5 pence a gallon!!!

Brought back lots of memories!

The phones were always in the freezing halls, I once went and got changed when my Aunt had called and was yacking on as usual, I was freezing. When I came back she was still prattling on with no idea I had been away.

So many things I wish I had kept, they would be worth a fortune now!

Amazing how unreliable TV's were, and how many parts they had.

And a Cortina for driving in the snow, go on drive it, wimp!

The thoughts about mobiles were interesting, after living with someone who used them as an electronic 'leash' to micro manage her kids lives I can see why the son enjoyed not having one. The kids could see how overprotective the parent's attitudes were, seeing danger everywhere.

(His daughter is a real whiney PITA, with a face made for radio, nothing seems to be right for her, I am sure the rest of the kids are happy when she goes back to her mum!)

Am I the only one who watched the second episode?

Great TV. Loved it smile I will also confess to having a Baird TV exactly like that one.

And those 'piano' key video recorders were crap! I think they were all made by JVC? and re-badged by everyone else. JVC, Ferguson Videostar, Panasonic, Baird, Rumbalows (sp?), Decca and I suspect a few other makes as well.

Oddly there was no mention of the Carphone. I remember that the company I worked for at the time was renting one for about £50 a day or something crazy.

Loved the choice of computer and they seemed the type (if there is one) to go for the BBC model. Strange that no one chose the Jupiter Ace hehe

I thought tonight's seemed a little hurried compared to the 70's ,maybe there was just more to cram in in the 80's

I was rather suprised they gave him a mk2 escort as the family car seeing as the mk3 was launched in 1980.

I've been watching this, but being 23 its not that relevant to me. Next week's episode is going to be a little pointless imo, most of the stuff they'll get is just less powerful versions of what we have now.

Funny how they never mention though the introduction of Windows - especially as they showed an IBM Model 30 P/C. My first P/C was an IBM X/T - a huge 10Mb disk using 5.25" floppies that stored, well, not a lot!

But I remember how we thought our mainframe was leading edge when we got disk drives that could store over 300Mb. They were only 12 " wide by 8" high !!

I have a Sinclair C5...must get it back on the road - they're great fun.

I even went up into the loft to get my Sinclair spectrum out...but considering you can play all the games on www.zxspectrum.net, I erm...put it back.

Windows 3.1 in 1990? That doesn't sound right.

One more thing they said Sonic (the Hedgehog) attacks and eats the fluffy bunnies.
