Yes, we're hooked! It is very good (wern't entirely sure to begin with, but we stck with it), and a very welcome change to have a 100% adult targeted programme.

Yep - agreed but with caveats...

Its a bit cheesy, not exactly written by shakespeare and has a "comicy" feel to it, but that said its good entertainment. It's not gory, scary or shocking but it is fun and theres lots of nudity etc...at least initially.

Underlying it all is a human-vampire love story though.

The first episode will tell you all you need to know to work out whether to follow it weekly - if you don't rate episode 1 its probably not worth wasting any further time on it.

All IMHO

Entertaining series, ignore anyone who says they don't get it as they are likely to be the types who think everything has to be real. This is an alternative reality type show where Vampires co-exist with humans.

Worth a watch, wouldn't call it great though I did take the time to download and watch the entire first season. I know its not meant to be realistic, but my main gripe is that the characters are a bit OTT (particularly the black girl and Sukki's brother), or maybe its just the over emphasized (and obviously fake) southern accents that are off putting. The gay chef/drug dealer was a good laugh though.

Can't help thinking I wouldn't bother watching it if there were better options available.

It's a lot more entertainment than dismantling your Corby trouser press.

Does too much happen in episode one or not enough?

it was odd... I'm not sure I'm any the wiser... is episode 2 any better?

I was pretty disappointed in series 2. They seem to pass over a whole load of potential vampire awesomeness to focus on a 'monster of the week' style story involving Ensign Ro that is streched out for an entire season (and a bit). The series struck me as the kind of thing you'd expect for series 5 or 6 once they were running out of interesting stories involving the primary concept, vampires, and were forced to branch out.

Since Series 2 has not been aired in the UK no spoilers thanks of what happens.

I was pretty much in the same boat. Gave up and watched Live at the Apollo instead.

It's based on a Charlaine Harris series (8-9 books) I think. I read them all in about two weeks, couldn't put them down.

Not sure how the series is going to pan out, but having watched the first one it's only about two chapters into the first novel so there should be plenty of content, so a bit confused about the comments on drawing out story lines....unless they intend on making a good 6-7 series out of it?!

A lot of gratuitous nakedness and additional sex scenes in the first episode that weren't in the book though!

Keep watching, it's worth it.
