I see "The Thick of It" will be back on BBC2 soon - I wonder what the scriptwriters will get stick into this time?

Something to look forward to at last!

Link, please!

Just hope that the script is as good as the first time round.

I hate it when they don't say when a new show starts. It usually means that I will miss the first episode...

(which is why posting here should remind me...)

BBC Press Office lists The Thick of It to start as unplaced (no day/time announced yet) during Week 43 (24-30 October).

Bump!

Tonight BBC2 22.10

Fingers crossed it's as good as it was.

For anyone that hasn't seen it before, think Yes Minister but upto date with swearing!

Hmmm... How many rants can Peter Capaldi do before we get bored of them? However well written and performed they are. Seems as though Tucker is really the central character now, where before he'd seemed to be the hand grenade dropped in from time to time. Was there any story/plot? Have to hope it's just a scene setting first episode. Or maybe real life politicians so absurd, that they are difficult to make it more absurd.

I watched it for the first time too (on the back of this thread). I thought it was alright but it was a bit fast moving. Maybe I was expecting more Yes Minister and canned laughter after Skeggy's comment!

An acceptable fall-back I suppose, but I'd rather watch it on the telly

I thought it was fantastic. Good to see Rebecca Front back - she was on Knowing Me Knowing You all those years ago (she played the jockey who took her top off in front of Alan).

For me, as many as they can write. Such carefully crafted pockets of vitriol - as funny as 'non-pc'.

The best swearing available!

I was lookinmg forward to this and SKY +'d it. Now watched it and hugely disappointed. All the clever stuff from previous episodes has gone, it was just a Tucker fkathon. What a shame.

This just gets better and better. It would have been easy for the producers to quietly drop the idea, but shifting the focus towards Tucker has created one of the great comedic monsters.
Also contrast Peter Capaldi's portrayal in this with that in the last run of Torchwood. The guy is a genius.
