Why does 3D not work for me?

Me and the OH sat down last night with our 3D specs placed over our regular specs to watch Coraline. We followed the instructions RE brightness, screen mode etc. Although the 3D effect did work at times, for most of the time things were quite blurry for me. The OH said she could see things fine.

Now I wonder if my colour blindness (greens) or eyesight in general (medium short sighted with mild astigmatism) has anything to do with the fact that the coloured 3D glasses do not work for for me?

How does anyone else find watching 3D films?

I'm also colour blind and I can't see 3D properly either, all just looks like a blur to me!

I'm not colourblind but recently watched a 3D TV episode and found the picture didn't seem anywhere near as bright through the right eye (blue) as through the left (red).

The new 3D cinema releases are done with polarisation rather than colour (one eye vertical, the other horizontal, and alternate frames polarised different ways apparently), so the colourblind will be ok.

If you can't see those magic eye things will these 3d movies not work?

We bought my bloody valentine to watch. One eye red, one green.

Terrible, gave me a headache and all I could see was green.

Awful.

" at least one person in thirty can't see 3D films because they don't have viable binocular vision: a squint or amblyopia or extreme eye dominance can interfere with the effect."

Added to which the people for whom it does work can end up with motion sickness or sore eyes.

You have to really wonder whether 3D is actually the future of cinema.

Maybe you've only got 2d eyes?

Funny you should mention headache. I have had a mild one plus tired eyes all day today. Don't think i will be purchasing any more 3D films.
