An anagram of Liza - according to the programme.

And totally useless in its concept - according to a professor of bacteriology.

Good quirky stuff from R4 - as usual.

The company that made it doesn't exist anymore, although part of the original company was sold off and is now Ronseal.

Reminds me of a story about how a bog roll salesman demonstrated the relative effectiveness of Izal v. soft bogroll - he squirted two lines of mustard onto a mirror, then wiped one line off easily with the soft paper, whereas the Izal stuff just generally smeared it about, and ended up using a lot more paper to get the mirror clean

We had this at work in the 1980's - it had "Government Property" printed on every sheet!

Even worse were the dispensers that gave it out one sheet at a time.

Yup - produced right next to a factory that built over 1200 Churchill tanks during WW2 - Thorncliffe Works near Chapeltown nerd

I wonder if the tanks were equipped with dispensers?

Jeyes also made the stuff in the form of separate sheets which came out of a letterbox type dispenser, think we even used to use it in school for tracing paper wink

Would that be before or after its intended use?
