The usual suspects (not The Usual Suspects) will be on. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without one of the channels showing It’s A Wonderful Life… But what are your guesses for what the big premiere film(s) will be on Christmas Day? It’s just for fun and kudos – there are no prizes smile

There won't be one - they seem to prefer Eastenders/Corrie followed by whatever puerile st singing/dancing/bug eating/badger baiting show is currently running.

Didn't the big Christmas Film die with the advent of DVDs and downloading films from the net?

Aren't "big films" usually on on the 26th?

The latest Indiana Jones one.

They've been showing Temple of Doom etc. for the last 15 years so I cant see them not showing the new one.

IIRC Its A Wonderful Life is not shown that often, which is a shame.

I reckon we will be treated to an animated film on Christmas day. Shrek 3 perhaps? Or Ratatouillie (sp?)

Yes but aren't they doing the star wars films in order on ITV at the moment each saturday? So unlikely to repeat it on Christmas Day?

Wait, what am I saying, of course they still could.

The last few years we have decided on a film each plus a couple of family choices that we buy on DVD and watch them at some point over Christmas. Less than the cost of us all going to the cinema usually and we're not dependendent on any schedule.

As I remember the "Big Christmas Film" stopped when Bond films went to vhs, they were usually the Big Film.
