Anyone have any tips on moving a large Plasma without the original box?? I know not to layt it flat but other than that, what are good practices and is there a generic box on sale for moving large tellies safely and securely?

It's of no help, but I did transport a 26" still boxed in an MX5

2 years and 3 moves on I still have the box for my 50" Plasma! Used to keep it in the garage, now it lives in the hall of my apartment looking a mess supporting my stuff to be sold ebay pile! biggrin

I'd cover it with a clean blanket and then bubble wrap it to death! Then keep it upright for the journey. If it's a short journey I wouldn't worry too much if it has to lie down, but otherwise keep it upright!!!

Yes, it's a 4 hour journey; so should be fun... only on Pistonheads could someone find a way of mentioneing an MX5 in such a thread!

Like said a st load of bubble wrap and lots of packing tape over that so you're got something grip without tearing.

I'd also wedge it with the screen side to something flat while transporting.
