I think given his age (the character's), the requirement to stay on the right side of the law - remember, Dirty Harry was the law) and the fact that he didn't actually want to get drawn into the fight then there's not much more he could have possibly done.

He had the moral high ground - had he simply blown them away it would have been justice perhaps but very fleeting.

I think it was a good film that had lots of positives. Maybe not as good as some of his other acting or directing roles, but still good.

Watch Harry Brown instead.

And generally avoid any film that has achieved "critical acclaim" they are usually dire, until you speak to a normal person and not a film critic or luvvie's scribblings.

Not much to do with the car I thought.

And the sound volume (Eastwood's delivery accepted) was so poor I called V***** Media and complained.
The guy I spoke to admitted they were aware that a number of films on offer were of poor sound quality, so offered me a refund. smile

Can't wait to see Harry Brown - probably have to wait for the DVD given I'm in Dubai.

Asterix,
Thing that grates most is that having grown up with his movies is that the viewer was left to decipher where character's moralising began and stopped.
Unlike The Unforgiven?

One of my all time fav films - the descent back to hell was simply stunning to watch.
