C4: Flags of our Fathers at 9:00pm, followed immediately by Letters from Iwo Jima at 11:35pm.
Clint Eastwood-directed war film duo - one from the US perpective, the other from the Japanese.
Enjoy

'Letters From Iwo Jima' is an absolutely fantastic film. I know some people see a film is subtitled and give up, but this one's well worth the watch.
Haven't seen 'Flags Of Our Fathers' yet, and doesn't look as if I'm going to as Top Gear is on and I've currently got no way of recording.

If you've got freeview etc. you've got Ch4+1 and your prayers are answered!Haven't seen 'Flags Of Our Fathers' yet, and doesn't look as if I'm going to as Top Gear is on and I've currently got no way of recording.

Flags of our fathers was a bit boring, letters is v. good though. I disagree about Eastwoods directing though, I think he's superb. Unforgiven? Million Doller Baby? Perfect World? At the very least lots of people disagree with you, he has a few films in the IMDB top 250 list and has won 3 oscars for best direction. Unforgiven is just superb, some of the shots (like the opening one) are just beautiful and million doller baby is handled very well indeed.
He's maybe my favourite director (it's him or Andrew Niccol...probably. Or Alex Proyas...definitely one of those)
