Hollywood's looking for inspiration again. Lets hope it's better than "Thunderbirds. Dawson's Creek's Joshua Jackson to star as the Colonel Paul Foster Character.

Nooooooooooooooooooo.

I wish Hollywood would just leave these classic TV series alone.

Without fail they are awful.

bounce Love the series. I would have thought 1999 or Blakes 7 would be a better starting point.

Its actually a very creepy plot (humaniod aliens coming to steal body parts.) which I think got a little lost in Andersons version. If they ramp up this aspect of it, it could be good.

If they concentrate on flashy spaceships, LA tanned Interceptor pilots and a character who is avenging his daddy's death then it will be ste.

Although my post is badly worded, as it looks like I am implying that the original series were awful (although UFO was rather morose at times).

I meant that the Hollywood remakes were awful.

The original had Captain Carlin joining SHADO to find out what happened to his Sister previously abducted by a UFO.

This, followed by Erin G made me the living wreck I am today. hehe

Was not the intro theme music sublime?

As it was for Space 1999.

Ah, joy to the world.

Barry Gray. The man was a genius, he has quite a following and a fansite or three. I have a few Barry Gray compilation CD's. Some tracks work very well in the Turbo R (although nothing is quite as good as Francis Monkman 'Taken' from The Long Good Friday in that car, especially at night, down the smoke, driving by 'prod' and palming the wheel).

Sublime indeed.

cloud9 Ballers - I need to send you something likely to give you hiccups - brilliant encapsulation of the types of toons which are the perfect bearnaise sauce to the Turbo R's fillet mignon. beer

I expect most of us who are aged 35 to 45 or so did. And the Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet vehicles.

The Joe 90 car was uncool.

I had an Interceptor, had the big torpedo thing shooting off the end like a big hard spunk dart..also had a Scarlet blue car, Joe 90s car and a couple of Eagles...interesting the Millennium Falcon originally looked something like an Eagle. But Lucas changed it due to the similarities, and it became the Corelian Corvette we see at the start of Star Wars.

edit...also had a super cool pink Rolls...wish I knew where it wasfrown

Terrorhawks was my fave, now they should make that!

Maybe, but I loved Joe 90. Another great Barry Gray intro, and the incidental music, episode by episode, scene by scene was above and beyond.
