Just been catching up on this on iPlayer...I'm not a massive fan of period dramas, but this one has me hooked. Definitely worth a watch.

Started catching up with it the other night. It seems very well written and looks pretty historically authentic.

It's good to see the less "frothy" side of the 18th century.

On a par with Channel 4's "City of Vice", which was also good.

I believe the cases are based on actual cases of the time. Very insightful and, fascinating to watch. Just a pity that there are only four parts to the series.

You can look up the actual cases it was based on at http://www.oldbaileyonline.org/.

(although the BBC did take some liberties and not all the cases were actually defended by Garrow)

I have (just) sent the BBC an e-mail asking if there is to be any followup episodes. Will update as soon as I have an answer (fingers crossed).

ETA: Thanks for the link, Lewis.

It was good, the wife and I hope they make a few more if there is good material to do so!
