they just had a good one with the lancia thing, what else could they do. i have a few suggestions.

a fwd 4wd rwd MR shoot out whats best how they handle differently in situations etc doesnt have to be mega scientific. say a integra typr R a scooby, a bmw m3 e 36 and a porsche boxter.

a fight betweent the 3 of them to see who can post the fastest time round the track.

A car challenge £1000 for hot hatches. theres a multitude of hot hatches they could have reviews and history on 205gti vw golf gti clio 16v 106gti 306 gti fiesta rs turbo renault 5 crx starlet, . plenty unreliable for a few genuine calamities.

any others

A rifle handling challenge between May and Clarkson, using tracer rounds so it's easier to see on TV. Hammond as the target, whoever gets more shells in him wins.

Then replace the troll with someone less irritating.

Thought the Britcar race was excellent but would have cost a packet so why not each of them do a low-cost racing challenge. Each has to buy, prep and race a car for less that say, £2k in a bone-fide race.

... then let them go out there and smash into each other, and some poor unsuspecting racer running his own car on a shoestring budget funded from savings and salary nono

I appreciate that a lot of Britcar racers will fall into that kind of category, however with much whiter collars, but it wouldn't be entertaining for me to see some stock hatchers day spoilt.

A race between a narrowboat and a guy on a handglider.

Be honest, that's got more chance than the suggestions above...

TG idea:-

Compare road cars to their racing versions.
e.g. Aston Martin/Le Mans; Porsche/Cup and even BTCC type 'normal' stuff (Vauxhall, Honda etc)

Drive both road version and racing version round track and see what handling, power and time differences are etc.

Then take to the road test track (can't remember its name but featured recently in electric car tests) and test them there. Pave, sweeping roads, etc.

Come to conclusion about the compromises needed to make a road car work well versus a pure racing/drivers car.

10k each to buy the fastest, most reliable car two seater(not just italian machines). Then they have to track it.

10k each to buy the fastest, most reliable school run machine.

Get three women who can't park, and try to teach them to park.

Get three women who can't drive, and get them to race around the track, see who's fastest.

Get three boy racers, let them use their own cars around the track, then let the stig show them how it's done.

Get three Govt ministers, and run them over. 10 times. With a Chieftan tank.

Go Environmental series..

See what the actual impact is of the running an older car compared to a newer Hybrid including build / disposal costs over say a 40 year cycle.

E.g. Take a 40 year old Landrover and compare it to a Hybrid (or two / three)

Would be interesting to see how many Hybrids they go through in a 40 year period and based on the generally limited milage of older cars how fuel efficient they would be compared to consistent replacements of newer cars.
