This is the site station of choice and i don't really object, apart from the fact i can't stand Steve Wright.

Anyway...i was listnening to Jeremy Vines show which i usually enjoy, but today my blood pressure was off the scale.

One of the topics was depression... the guest speaker was a "proffesional" in the field who had just submitted a report on the subject to the WHO...anyway...the long and the short of her argument was that depression in the UK is almost exclusively found amongst the poor in society and is due to the huge gulf between rich and poor (can you see where this is going....?)

Now for the insane part...Vine said to her (i paraphrase, can't remember the exact words) that would the solution be to harmonise peoples standards of living by making the rich poorer and the poorerst better off, so essentially everybody is just above the poverty line on a subsistance level....the woman AGREED!! I did wonder how much she was earning and wheter she would take a salary cut to comply with her Socialist ideal!!

Best bit was that when the shows "resisdent" Doctor came on she essentially said WTF and that you can not making such a sweeping assumption and that in fact depression doesn't discriminate according to class/gender/etc.

Oh well good to know the WHO is being advised by Socialists...

The other thing was some nutty bint campaigning about toy shops reatailing pink toys for female kids...or girls as i think they are called. Her argument that this is a dicrminatory thing and is having a negative effect on kids by enforcing gender stereotypes....i found the whole concept mental and very creepy...

basically....WTF???!!!!! has the world gone completely fking mad????!!!! what next? denouncement of the kulaks??

Not the world.....This country!

Britain is the butt of a lot of international jokes, because of this type of direction!

you look at any other country, and you will not see the same level of State interference anywhere except maybe in the middle-east or Communist countries!

Caught the opening 5 minutes, but turned it off when I realised where it was leading. I wonder why the BBC chose to run that story haha.

(fwiw IMO depression happens in all walks of life, and 9 times out of 10 is a mental disorder (not organic - drugs won't help) caused by self pity.

Just recalled that she said the social divide had really taken off under Thatcher and up until 1997 but had steadied off since than...

Of course dear, thank goodness for the post 1997 utopia we live in...FFS how can these peole be in such responsible positions..it's beyond politics they just seem genuinely deluded, it's frightening.

I was listening to this and was equally shocked. This dimwit who advises the WHO was clear that depression was caused by poverty and that it was made worse by Thatcher and under New Labour it had been made better.

Now tell that to all those who have lost their jobs and homes as a result of the incompetance of Labour. Depression is casued by all sorts which is what the resident Dr said, the programe was just an opportunity for a Labour supporter could say how wonderful the action Labour would be taking to help people.

Utter Rubbish.

Pinkstinks I think was the campaign by the last nutty bint?
My niece loves pink, but according to dippy cow on the radio I shouldn't buy her anything pink as it will reinforce some stereotype

Unfortunately the Vine show is a bit too much like the Daily Mail verbalised....

The Bint was destroyed by the resident Dr immediately after her - with 100% success.

Was parking when heard the stupid lezzer gtoing on about her two girls being conditioned to like Pink by Society! WTF? She sounded as though her head was exploding when the counter argument was expressed by Terry Thomas's elder (and wiser) brother who rightly suggested that she was an unfortunate by product of 'Women's Lib' in that she has chosen to have the best of both Worlds....

"She has equality in the work place when it suits her and is lucky to be able to scrub up and look beautiful, alluring and voluptuous when it suits - best of both worlds" - I nearly pi55ed myself smile
