As ever, James hits a number of nails squarely on the head.

As I keep arguing, the BBC (especially Radio 4) is a bit more balanced ion this topic than many other media outlets - despite what many PHers might think

However Government can raise taxes more easily by siding with the environ - mentalists and stories it likes. Just as Bliar did in 2003 to achieve regime change.

And what's that got to do with Clive James' broadcast (one of a number he has made expression his concerns over the coverage of the debate in the media).

He does make a lot of good points, the media has always presented the most sensationalist view and ignored anyone even slightly moderate. The thing that always worries me is the number of people who accept what the papers/tv tell them as if it has no bias or motives.

Also can we keep the climate change rhetoric out of this thread, there are four to choose from in the News forum if you want to have a pointless argument.

He's an ex-barrister isn't he?

Sometimes he cuts people to pieces with interviews/on panel shows etc.. always good to see the training not going to waste..
