Is it just me or has there been an increase in the CO2 adverts lately? Must be all the snow.

I also noted that they state that "we are changing the climate" though. Perhaps worth a complaint?

There are lot of patronising government ads on the TV full stop at the moment. You'd think with the massive public debt they would have better things to do than tell us about;

You might get robbed!!!: if you are stupid enough to leave the back door open you deserve to get robbed.
You might get a Stroke!!!!: not being horrible to anyone here who has lost loved ones to this and I know its a terrible thing but doesn't breast cancer or several other disorders kill just as many people but are not advertised?
Stop smoking!!!: If people want to smoke let them. If the anti fag lobby hasn't persuded them yet then nothing will.
and of course

THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!: CO2 ads, nuff said.

Not that anyone would ever suggest that the government would be spending our money on adverts to help prop up ITV (losing loads of money) in the hope that when the election comes reports might be a bit "favourable" towards Liarbour?

Of course not and you'd be a fool and communist to think so.......

CO2 adverts are a load of cock and obvious propaganda. Particular emphasis on the 'bed time story' advert - very sneaky targeting of children.

The point with the stroke advert is that it is designed to inform of the signs of a stoke - as such allow early identification and early hospitalisation/treatment (thus minimising morbidity and mortality).

Yeah the one about the stroke is potentially helpful. Climate change one isn't really is it?

Yes but how do you explain to a 3 year old why the woman goes from smiling and happy to having a hole in her head on fire?

Sure to adults its informative, but I wonder what number of strokes happen when no-one is there so no help. To children its quite scary, along with the CO2 ads with dogs drowning. Doesn't really matter what the story is, its how its portrayed on screen.

You don't. Not all television has to be acceptable to 3 year olds.

Valid point, but I still don't see that showing a woman's head on fire can be associated with a stroke, the rest of the ad is fine but that part is showing spontaneous human combustion!

It's a visual metaphor.

You mean if you are having a stroke your face doesn't actually look like it's on fire!? No way!

I noticed last night that the one having a go at cars has had the voice over changed. Originally it was a total pack of complete and utter downright blatant lies, many people complained.

Now they have been very careful to cunningly reword all of it, to imply the same lies, but not actually telling them like they did originally.

Unfortunately, a victory that few will notice.

Why does the brown child have a deformed head? What are they trying to suggest?

The Advertising standards people have gone quiet on the complaints front, not heard anything in a while.
