I had a search, couldn't find anything, surely this has been done before. Feel free to chastise me ...

What's your favourite martial arts fight scene in a film? I love Wheels on Meals, Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez vs Jackie Chan:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXVp9938Uq4

Chan vs Bradley James Allan second time around in Gorgeous (very poor film otherwise):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAByieNMWUY

Not forgetting Jet Li in the awesome Fist of Legend:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTz10qXGk2g

Fist of Legend again, the last thing you want is some old man's dirty socks in your face:

Tony Jaa, Ong Bak (st quality, I can't find a better one):

Anything that doesn't feature anyone in the above (or the obvious Bruce Lee)?

Tony Jaa really is awesome, deserves to be as well known as Jet Li and Jackie Chan IMO.

Agreed. He is a relative newcomer, but I can't wait to see more.

ok so it's a chessey dated film, but i think the final fight in Kickboxer is genuinely awesome. Plus the shopping mall fight in Police Story and as a wild card, Grosse Pointe Blank

I always remember the Tony Jaa fight were he just kicks the big guy in the head really hard and knock him straight to the floor - class!

Jackie Chan is genius though for the clarity of the fights - long shots and not lots of snapy edits to try and make things look fast. One of his ex guys here:
Scott Adkins - will see more of him in the future I expect:

I also like Ray Park - Toad and of course Darth Maul

The fight between the two of them in the school where the bloke gets the pen in his neck is awesome.

Tony Jaa's the winner for me though; looking forward to more films from him.

Don't know if you'd class this as martial art, but the Michelle Yeoh v Zhang Ziyi sword fight from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of my favourite film scenes ever.

From the 2008 film about Ip Man:

Quick and extremely brutal when it all kicks off.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qhPDEOYbx4

..and although I like Jet Li, his remake of fist of fury does not match up to Lee's devestation at the dojo with the nunchucks [although I have to laugh at the hand to forehead tomato sauce moment]

In fact Donnie Yen does a fine job portraying the art of Wing Chun in that movie. He is to be commended. I say this on the basis that i have been a teacher/student of Wing Chun as well as Kali for the last 32 years. The guy does a good job, well done to him.
Although i dont really watch chop suey movies as such, i do like the Bourne identity movie fights. As well as the knife fighting scenes in the movie called "the hunted". Again because of my Kali/JKD background. The knife drills are very convincing. The fight choreographers of them movies originate from the Inosanto academy fight schools.
I think todays tastes differ from the days of say 20 years ago regarding favorite fight scenes. Today we look for more realism and more of a direct approach, as opposed to the back flips and spinning kicks ect.
