Promising start, I think this will be good. Different, but good!

I gave this a go this morning and it was okay, better than Moyles that i have been listening too before now.

I know i'm in the minority but i couldn't get on with Wogan.

unfortunately I think you may be right. Personally I wish they would get rid of all these over paid egotistical idiots & just get someone to change the cds. I really don't want to listen to all their stupid st, all I want to hear is music & travel reports.

I thought there was too much phone in stuff - which he did on his Drivetime programme.Music and travel reports about right for that time of morning and Moira Stewart back with the news.

Thought was a very poor start to be honest, safe and unrisky song in starting with the beatles too. He also seemed very nervous, shouting erraticaly high pitched a lot like a kid e.g. I DON@T KNOW WHAT A SHOWER RADIO IS LIKE, I DONT HAVE ONE...

Evans was best at Radio1 when he was on the edge, without this his energy won't work. Not sure the team around him will match up either, that new male sidekick seemed dull. Drivetime is a very different vibe to breakfast.

Turned over to Moyles and was laughing within minutes as had Terry Wogan voice mash up telling him how much he loved his show.

Will tune in again though as was amazing in his day and hope finding his feet.

Well, I listened and thought it was pretty good. I like Chris Moyles, but he normally manages to put me in a bad mood in the morning, and I liked Terry Wogan, but he never really managed to make me up.

Chris Evans actually managed to wake me up and put me in a pretty decent mood which is a first, I wasn't too keen on the music and the whole thing felt rushed, but it just needs time to bed in. I think a lot of the features that were in this morning will be quietly dropped over the next few days and it will mellow out a bit. It's like when he started Drivetime - it was full of features and disorganised, but after a few months it turned into a really good radio show.

Hopefully there will be no more shouty fitness freaks either. hehe

Yeah, what the hell was the matter with that guy. I couldn't help thinking what an idiot, it was soon after that I tuned into virgin, or absolute or what ever it's called now. But unfortunately that only works around the London-ish area so doesn't have travel reports for the whole country, so had to go back to radio 2 after a while.

I used to think Evans was a tit.

I've either grown to appreciate him or I've become a tit also. I like his style and I think he'll do well.

Thought it was a C- start for Chris. I think it will only get better as he finds his rhythm and as he overcomes the wogan legacy.

It was standard fare.

Thought the Beatles was a dull choice. MS was good, glad to see he brought JE with him.

Will see how it pans out.

Without a doubt - Wogan would make me chuckle out loud in the time it took me to drive to work...

Evans didn't unfortunately - played it very safe imho. I hope h gets back to his best.

Can't stand the fat R1 controller - so far up hiself he is inside out..

I turned him off today and listen to Chris Evans. I dont ever listen to radio 2 but I will be listening to him on a morning now. Moira Stewart reading actual news was a revelation. I am now converted.

I enjoyed Wogan over the years, but more latterly his shows were very tired. The same old 'in jokes' about his fellow presenters, were worn threadbare long ago and the show desperately needed a revamp. I hope never again to hear any mention of Splott.

I've previously found Evans an irritation, but have warmed to him a little since he took over drivetime. However, the breakfast show is no place for phone-ins, personal requests and dedications. he needs to lose those.

Anyone else find the rather long 'God' bit from the groovy vicar a trifle awkward 'though?

Me too.

It'll be interesting to see if Moyles listener figures take quite a hit or not.

I should start by saying that I really enjoy Moyles.

However, thinking about it - listeners are likely to go from Moyles to Evans, however ex-wogan listeners aren't going to go to Moyles, so surely the figures can only go one way?
