really ? I thought it was s
te and it certainly put me off changing to Halifax just for £5 a month.but as its clearly gone over my head, why is it very clever ?
To me it was an annoying and unfunny portrayal of a radio 'dj' show. But I guess at least it was in the same vein as their previous crap with 'Howard' doing his dance routines.
Bring back the young natwest kid I say, its not all werk werk werk...
( and yes, I'm joking

Why is it very, very, clever? Its just a cheap "lets make a funny Deejayy clip as we are sooo cool we can mock ourselves" thats been done a thousand times before. Its just nasty.
And if by some chance its totally gone over my head and I'm obviously that dumb I dont get "it" then I'm clearly not in Halifax's demographic that the advert is aimed at anyway.
Howard on the other hand, at least that man could dance!

Thats OK...not every advert is aimed at every person.even tho the advert has worked in so far as we are discussing it..
what is it that makes it clever, or what demographic is it aimed at ?
Its just seems rubbish and annoying to me.
Though nowhere near as annoying as the new in cabin safety announcements using little kids to tell me fasten my seatbelt on Thompsonfly, that I had to suffer last weekend.

I'm sure he didnt mean to come across like that, thats the perils of 'text'..
I'm seriously interested as to why it could be considered good or clever..
And even more so, about the thompsonfly safety demo, which had me almost wanting to smash the little screens showing it !

basically its like a video of a wacky breakfast radio show, how I imagine Steve Wright, or Chris Moyles to be.. but even more cringeworthy..
I like it!
You do realise its not taking itself to seriously dont you? They dont really expect their customers to be high fiving each other at work and that isnt how they think real radio shows are made. Banks right now are seen as scum...they have had to take things in a new direction. When Howard first came on the scene people couldn't believe that a dancing black dude from their back office was a real advert.
I think the ad works on every level, its funny, it doesnt link them to evil bankers and it gets the point across about the £5(oh, and everyone is talking about it...good or bad)

So why is it "very, very clever" as apposed to just "clever"?You do realise its not taking itself to seriously dont you? I know whats its about, its just trying to be cringy like The Office but failing. Self mockery is fine if its done in an amusing and funny way. This is just tacky and cheapens their brand IMO.
In fact the Natwest ads are equally as s
te.FFS thnaks!
Forgot it was 2010
Oh this...haha funny, I have seen this several times and it simply hasn't registered, clearly! If you had shown me it without a soundtrack I could not have told you owt aboot it save that someone pretends to be in space?
I doubt that in 10 years time I will remember this like I did the last one.

yes, I realised it wasnt taking itself too seriously.
Guess people find different things funny.
I thought it was desperately unfunny, and just made me want to turn over.
Which I will do if it blights my screen again
